Residential Pest Control in Hughes
Most of our Hughes work is residential. Homes here are a mix of older cabins, newer builds and everything in between, and each type has its own pest problems. Older cabins have more entry points. Newer homes are tighter but still get mice through pipe chases and vents. Wood heat and long winters keep the pressure on from October through April. We handle mice, wasps, ants, spiders and the occasional bat, and we do it on a schedule that fits how people actually live up here.
- Rodent exclusion and trapping โ We find the gaps mice are using, seal them with exclusion mesh and sealants, and set snap traps and bait stations in the voids. This is the core of what we do in Hughes. Most homes need one to two visits, and the exclusion work is what keeps the problem from coming back next fall.
- Wasp nest removal โ Wasps build under eaves, in attics and inside wall voids around Hughes. We remove the nest, treat the surrounding area with residual insecticide, and seal the gap where they got in. If the nest is near a door or a play area, we prioritize it and usually get there within a day or two.
- Seasonal mosquito treatment โ If you live near the Koyukuk River, mosquitoes are a real problem in June and July. We treat standing water with larvicides and spray shaded vegetation with residual insecticide. A recurring summer schedule keeps the pressure down without you reapplying every week.
- Preventive fall inspection โ Our fall inspection is the best value in Hughes pest control. We walk the exterior, find entry points, seal what we can and set monitoring stations before the cold drives rodents in. Customers who do this in September or October usually skip the winter mouse problem entirely.
